Why did we start advising travel in Africa?

At 19, I took my first trip to Africa with no idea it would set the direction for my life. What started as a young man looking for purpose became a vocation and a lifetime of discovery with a continent that never stops surprising me.

Over the past 15 years, I've crossed from the bustling markets of Kampala to the dramatic coastlines of Cape Town. I've watched sunrises over the Serengeti in the east and surfed West Africa's shores. I've called parts of this magnificent continent home, and I still return every few months, drawn back by both people, possibilities and the experiences that you just can’t find anywhere else.

But my travels aren't just about collecting passport stamps. I've had the privilege of funding and supporting community development projects across Africa, working alongside local leaders who are building stronger futures for their communities. Through these partnerships, I've witnessed the incredible resilience, innovation, and practical solutions that emerge from local communities.

Every journey has introduced me to remarkable people with stories that deserve to be heard and places of breathtaking beauty that deserve to be experienced responsibly.

That's why I founded Field Travel. After 15 years of building relationships and understanding the continent, I want to share these authentic experiences with fellow travelers who seek more than just a vacation. We craft journeys that connect you with local communities, support sustainable tourism, and reveal the Africa that captured my heart all those years ago.

Whether you're drawn to the cultural richness of ancient cities, the thrill of wildlife encounters, or the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through community partnerships, Field Travel opens doors to experiences that will change how you see the world.
